Solar Car Race Notes

This blog is intended to be an online journal and act as a means for family and friends to follow the Ulster BOCES Volt Tech team. Six students and three chaperones will be heading to Texas at the end of July for a ten day solar car race from Fort  Worth to Los Angeles—what an adventure!

Students have been working on getting the car complete and ready for trailering to Texas. On Tuesday July 16th, Mark and Myles Harris departed BOCES for a long trip to Texas; remaining team members are scheduled to fly on Friday for Texas. The first weekend will include practice driving at the Texas Motor Speedway,  scrutineering (students being asked questions on the mechanics of the car), and various meetings.
